ABOUT RENAISSANCE TEAMS

Collaborative. Evidence-Based. Empowering.

We're researchers, facilitators, and certified practitioners who believe your team truly is your greatest asset. It's time to unlock their innovation potential.

Founded in 2019, Renaissance Teams was born from a simple belief: that organizations already have the creative potential they need, they just need the right frameworks, tools, and guidance to unlock it. We bring decades of combined experience and genuine passion to every engagement.

Our Story

Why Renaissance Teams Exists

We want you to stop buying back your own ideas

Most innovation consulting follows a cynical, predictable pattern: Outside experts arrive, interview your best people, "hijack" their latent insights, and then present them back to you as proprietary magic.

The result? Your teams feel demotivated and ignored. When it comes time to implement "the consultant's plan," there is no buy-in, only animosity. The project stalls, the consultant leaves, and your innovation capacity remains exactly where it started.

We believe the answers are already in the room

At Renaissance Teams, we don’t bring the "answer." We bring the deliberate process required to unlock it from your own people. We believe that the most sustainable competitive advantage isn’t the next external intervention—it’s the creative potential already sitting in your office.

The Science of Sustainable Innovation

True innovation isn't a fluke; it's a discipline. Based on research originally identified by PwC and validated across decades of organizational study, we focus on the three levers that actually move the needle:

Leadership

Equipping leaders to champion and protect new ideas rather than unintentionally stifling them.

Deliberate Process

Moving beyond "brainstorming" to a structured, repeatable Creative Problem Solving (CPS) methodology.

Climate for Innovation

Creating a high-trust environment where risk-taking is calculated and psychological safety is a reality.

Our Toolkit, Your Expertise

We believe the best solutions are already in your company, often trapped by a lack of process or a climate that isn't fine-tuned for innovation and change. Our role is to provide the tools, like individual preference or climate assessments and deliberate process-driven facilitation, that bring those insights to the surface.

We’re here to help your team strengthen their innovation muscles. Our goal is to leave your team with more momentum, a clearer path forward, and maybe even a little bit of amazement at the ideas they came up with.

We don't leave you with a deck. We leave you with a more capable organization.

The name "Renaissance Teams" reflects our belief that innovation emerges from the interplay of multiple dimensions. Just as the Renaissance flourished through advances in art, science, philosophy, and culture working together, organizational innovation requires integrating Person, Process, Climate (Press), and Product. Most consultants focus narrowly on one dimension. We address all four systematically because that's what the research shows actually works.

Our Values

What Guides Our Work

These seven values shape how we engage with clients, what we teach, and how we operate as a company. They're not aspirational statements. They're commitments we hold ourselves accountable to every day.

Intellectual Humility

We approach every engagement knowing that clients hold the business expertise - we bring the methodology to unlock it.

Our role isn't to tell you what to do. It's to provide the Creative Problem Solving frameworks and facilitation that help you discover breakthrough solutions yourselves. The research that informs our practice comes from decades of rigorous work by creativity and innovation scholars around the world. We've learned from them, and we share that learning with you.

Capacity Over Dependency

We measure impact by what you can do independently, not by how much you need us.

During every engagement, capability is transferred to your team: when we facilitate workshops, participants learn the methodology while solving real problems. When we conduct assessments, leaders gain skills to diagnose and improve climate on their own. Your independence is our goal, not a threat to our business model.

Evidence-Based Practice

Every technique we use draws from research-validated approaches, not trendy theories or proprietary inventions.

Creative Problem Solving has 70+ years of development and validation studies. The assessments we use all have documented reliability and validity. This commitment to research protects you from the innovation fad cycle where new methodologies emerge constantly and disappear within years. You're getting tools with documented effectiveness, not experiments with uncertain outcomes.

Generous Knowledge Sharing

We share knowledge broadly beyond paid engagements. Our resources page includes articles, tools, and research summaries available to anyone because we believe innovation capacity should be accessible. When tools and templates work well, we make them downloadable.

Excellence with Integrity

We bring rigorous preparation, deep facilitation expertise, and attention to detail - alongside the integrity to tell you what we actually think. If our services aren't the right fit, we'll say so. If your timeline isn't realistic, we'll tell you. We won't agree to unrealistic expectations to win the work. Sometimes the honest answer is "this isn't a good fit" or "here's a better alternative." Excellence requires that integrity.

Whole Person Recognition

We work with complete humans, not job titles. People bring their full selves to work - experiences, preferences, constraints, dreams. The VP of Innovation is also a parent managing childcare logistics. The team struggling with innovation might be dealing with organizational trauma from a recent restructuring.

This recognition shapes how we facilitate: we ask about context, accommodate different thinking styles, and create space for the human realities that affect innovation and make change more challenging.

Joyful Seriousness

Innovation work is important, but that doesn't mean it has to be heavy. Playfulness and humor create the ease where breakthrough thinking thrives. When teams feel relaxed enough to laugh, they're relaxed enough to take the intelligent risks that innovation requires. We take the work seriously while maintaining lightness in how we engage. The challenge is real. The exploration can be joyful. Both are true simultaneously.

Our Approach

How We Work With CLients

Everything we do is grounded in the 4 P’s framework – Person, Process, Press (Climate), and Product.

Most organizations focus narrowly on one or two P’s. They invest in process training but ignore climate. They hire creative people but don’t provide methodology. They generate ideas but can’t implement them because the environment doesn’t support risk-taking.

We address all four systematically. Our three core services map to the framework: Innovation Workshops develop Process capability while producing Product outcomes. Creative Environment Assessment measures and strengthens Climates. Leadership Development builds comprehensive capability across Person, Process, and Press. When these dimensions align, sustainable innovation capacity follows.

Person

Individual thinking styles, creative preferences, and problem-solving approaches

Process

Structured methodology for navigating from challenge to solution

Press
(Climate)

Organizational environment that either enables or inhibits creative work

Product

The tangible outcomes that emerge when the other three align
